COVID-19 and our 2020–21 Season
To our friends and supporters of chamber music,
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we hope that you are all coping in this strange and difficult time with patience and in good health. Theaters, concert halls, and auditoriums will be among the last places to open and, in any case, our patrons may for some time be reluctant to attend concerts in person. We are therefore arranging to have all our concerts video-recorded to a high standard, so that they can be watched online, whether we are able to present some concerts live or not.
Subscribers and ticket holders will be sent a private link shortly before a concert is due to take place that will enable them to access the concert online, either at the time of the concert or for two or three days afterwards.
The two concerts in September 2020 (Dorian Winds and Jupiter/Jasper Quartets) were postponed from their original dates in April and May. If you had a subscription for the last season or have tickets for these concerts, they are valid for the rescheduled concerts.
So, we are not taking a break this season! Our expenditure will be at least as high as in a normal season. You, SFCM's loyal supporters and enthusiasts, have always been generous with both your season subscriptions and your donations, which enable us to bring an extraordinary series of musical artists to our community, year after year. I would therefore ask you to maintain your support during the new season to the extent that you are able. In this way, you can play your part in sustaining the Syracuse Friends of Chamber Music throughout this current trying time, and ensure that we emerge as strong as ever to continue our programs beyond the pandemic at the same high level to which we are accustomed.
